Re: Roll Playback Speed
By Rick Pargeter

This is my first post in this forum, and I feel very lucky to be among such talent. My main hobby is wind up phonographs, antique autos and an occasional player piano restoration as they come my way.

I thought I'd jump in and put in my two cents worth on this subject of roll speed increase. Just from my many hours pumping my player, I constantly notice that the speed of the rolls are always faster than when started, and I am always compensating for the increase by throttling the tempo lever as the roll progresses. I find that I am always 10-15 'steps' below where I started the roll, especially if it's a multi song version - the one's with the big spools.

Thanks for all the interesting information.
