Larry Smith's Music Box Thread
By Beatrice Robertson

Congratulation, Larry Smith! Your music box sounds like a fine solution - I also have several 72 note Reuge movements because of the very nice arrangements - Handel Water Music is one of my favorites - and have placed them in old and new boxes. They will be someone's collectible someday. If we think about it, the Swiss music box makers did something rather similar. The fellow down the street made the box, and sometimes it didn't fit just right, but the box needed to be delivered, so it went anyway. I have a Ducmmon-Girod that has every indication of being in the original case, but the case is way too long at one end. There aren't any etched in steel rules about what we can do to make music boxes sound nice! Thanks for your suggestion. I think I will check out my local Sears Store.

To Ed Schmidt: I have some of your rolls from some years ago, and they play extremely well on my Musical Casket Organette. Thanks for your service, and the nice music!
