Duo-Art Demonstration Roll
By Ralph Schack

Jim Weisenborne asked about making up a test roll for the Duo-Art which would demonstrate the dynamics of the system.

    The one we use is Duo-Art #S-3221, "Demonstration Roll, 1929" played by Robert Armbruster.

    Contents:

        Introduction;
        Accompaniment in bass with theme in treble;
        Trill with crescendo and diminuendo;
        Cadenza with more rapid crescendo and sudden diminuendo;
        Melody in the bass, accompaniment in the treble;
        Sustaining pedal effect;
        Pianissimo;
        Fortissimo;
        Rhythmical facility and rapid accenting.

    Klavier recut it several years ago and it is very worthwhile watching for on the various roll auction lists.
