Sound of the Hurdy-Gurdy

I think "sound of a cat with a stomach ache" comes closest. In fairness, John was still working on getting the bowing regulated and at the time, the tuning was off quite a bit. I think properly set up, it would sound a great deal like a Mills Violano Virtuoso but in a somewhat lower register.
