Re: Barrel Organ Value
By Marty Roenigk

In Digest 96.09.01 Douglas Rhodes inquired about the value of a barrel organ. This is an impossible question because of the wide variety of barrel organs. There are parlor barrel organs which have only modest value, at least in the States, of perhaps $1000-1500.

When getting into the highly decorative and desirable street monkey organs they can range from $2500-15,000 in good condition, depending on the number of keys, number of pipes, maker, size of case, types of pipes, exposed pipes, etc, etc.

If more information could be garnered, I could be a lot more specific. There were perhaps 7 or 8 monkey organs for sale at the MBS national meeting, including two that we took.
