Musical Boxes
By Brian Chesters

Hi all you MMD ers,

I like the thought that there should be more on musical boxes in the MMD (if thats wot it should be) So hears a bit of news over the last week. A guy gave me a tip about an old feller who had some Polyphon parts in his loft on the Isle of Man (Twixt England and Ireland) I happend to be going so I looked him up and the upshot is that I am now looking for an empty case for a 50cm Polyphon upright. Its a shame realy cause I have another friend who is also looking for one. I bet I find one first.

Had a call to-day offering me a large PVF Cylinder musical box with 16 inch cylinder but no tune sheet. I bought it over the phone and will see it next week. I wonder if I will be happy or sad next week.

If anyone is interested, There is an auction next week in which there is a Late George 3rd Mahogany barrel organ by Longman & Brodenf on a stand with perhaps four, ten tune barrels. I may have been interested myself but I have one already.

All the best.
Brian Chesters
