Player Piano
By Denny and Janice Hess

Hello and thanks for the welcome message. You requested that we let you know how we found out about the Digest. Recently we picked up a player piano for our son who's been wanting one for some time. We have it at our house at present, and sometime in the future it will be making it's way to his place. We're not sure at the moment whether it will be shipped or he will come for it sometime in the future. It's a Lauter Humana (Newark, NJ). Shortly after picking up that one we found one at an auction in deplorable condition and got it for a very small sum. It's a Gulbransen. Since our hobby up till now has been antique telephones, we realized we knew nothing about player pianos and thought it would be interesting to collect whatever information is available on Internet. Your web site was located after doing a search, and we thought it would be a good place to start. Both players will need some restoration, and we want to become better informed before doing anything.

Sincerely,

Janice & Denny Hess
