The music for the Banjo Orchestra was arranged by Art Reblitz using Cakewalk and a synthesizer with voices similar to the Banjo Orchestra. I converted the Cakewalk files to my perforator file format using specially designed programs, and punched the rolls.

While we were refining the process, Art would send me the Cakewalk files, I would convert them, punch and send a test roll to the Rameys. They would play the roll on one of the prototype machines and record it on video tape, then send the tape to Art in Colorado. Art would adjust the Cakewalk files as needed and identify perf file conversion problems. Then the cycle would start over. After a few passes, we had the whole process working smoothly.

The rolls are 100 channels spaced nine per inch on 11.25 inch wide paper. The banjo control section has separate channels for each fret on each string, and four plucker channels. The plucker channels are always single punch holes. The rolls are approximately 240 feet long and have ten tunes each.
