Modern Materials ?

Hello Spencer,

I've been spraying water based finishes for years.  I have great success with Mohawk fillers. Also their Ultra-Penetrating Stains are great.

For a finish, I use Crystalac; acrylic finishes.  I can't say enough about these.

    Becker Labs: 423-727-6425

although, I know someone who swears by Hydrocote:

(I like their Rubbing Lube for rubbing-out)

I still use lacquer on plates. When I was still spraying lac. finishes, I found Sherwin Williams Vinyl Sealer.  A high solid, quick build material. But now, I mix gold powder with the Vinyl Sealer and spray a clear gloss acrylic topcoat.  The only reason for a lacquer thinner based sealer is to disolve the gold powder.

Well, back to work,
