Welte "Titanic" Organ
By Marty Roenigk

Robbie inquired about how our "Titanic" style Welte organ compared to the
one at Disneyland in Anaheim. While I have never seen the Disney Welte,
I am told that it is a "Cottage Orchestrion", probably a Style 4.

These Welte orchestrions differed from the Salon orchestrions in that
they had large arrays of metal (nickel-plated, I think) pipes displayed
in the upper center, sort of in a sunburst pattern (flaring up and to the
sides, not out to the front like on a Wurlitzer Military Band Organ).

They are very impressive and were designed, I think, a little more for
commercial operations although many of them were sold into homes. Our
style Welte was sometimes called a "Philharmonic" style.
