Solo Carola Inner Player
By John Phillips

Michael Waters asks whether there are many Solo Carola players around. I
would say not many but there are a few. I know a chap in Kingston, Tasmania
who has one, and the local piano repair shop in town has an upper action
sitting on a shelf. No doubt they ripped it out of a player at some time.
I had friends in Melbourne who had a Solo Carola with a very big collection
of rolls but one of the guys has died and his partner has lost interest in
players, although I think he still has all their instruments and rolls. I
found them maybe 15 or 20 rolls in Tasmania and in fact I have 4 or 5 at
home that I picked up on the off chance and then found were duplicates in
their collection. By the way, isn't it Carola rather than Carolo?

John Phillips.
