Lifting Pianos with Pneumatic Technology
By Spencer Chase

I needed to lift an upright reproducing piano (heavy) onto a dolly and
did not have any help. I found a faster and safer method than the old
lever and block routine, and it's pneumatic to boot.

I used one of the air bag type car jacks, that is supposed to work from
car exhaust. No, I didn't connect it to the pump. I used an air
compressor on low pressure and it worked real well. You could probably
use your car if it was handy. Just lift one side at a time and make sure
the bag is under the center of mass.
