Pianomation Playola
By Grant Leonard

Phil Dayson asked, "Does anyone have a Pianomation Playola, and how
does it work?"

I say "Wonderful!" This keyboard player is designed to fit on almost any
88-note piano, and uses the QRS Pianomation discs. It is available with
the speaker that also plays the accompaniment . Mine is about a year old
and is delightful! Like the Pianomation system, you should use their
special box that can put into the memory the minimum effort needed for
each individual note. This allows absolutely the softest playing
possible. Of course it can also play at concert hall expression.

It does not have a sustain pedal solenoid; instead, the computer holds
the notes down when the pedal is called for. You must hear it to believe
it. It is absolutely fabulous!!

It also has MIDI-In, -Out and -Through, although I haven't used that part.
