Violano Strings
By Gloria Schack

Al Menasche asked, "If I obtain strings from Gloria's source, what type
of preparation is necessary in order to install them, like winding, the
eyelets, etc.?"

Answer: These are complete violin strings, ready to install. The D & G
have eyelets (loops). The A and E have little balls on the end instead,
and ours are strung by letting the balls just hang out over the end
instead of threading through a loop. I believe both the A and E can also
be used as loops -- the ball on the E has a hole in the center, and the
ball on the A looks like it could be removed, leaving a loop.

With some brands of strings you have to specify if you want the ball or
the loop. All of the strings I recommended come only one way, so you
just order the string as I described the other day.
