Band Organ Music Played on Pipe Organ
By Michael Woolf

At present I'm fully engaged in rebuilding my Wurlitzer Theater Organ
so am following with interest the items on the use of Theater Organ
pipes in Band Organs.

A few years ago I had the great pleasure of listening to the Marr and
Colton organ installed at Marv and Zelda Horowitz's house near Boston
(which was, incidentally, the original gatehouse for the Pond Family of
Ivers and Pond pianos).

Marv's organ had a number of tracker bars and could play rolls made
for theater organ, several orchestrions and band organs. To my ear
the band organ settings had an authentic sound, suggesting that the
arrangements are perhaps as important as the design of the pipes.
I wonder if this is the organ referred to in the Digest on tapes from
Ray Siou?

New Year greetings to all.
