Hupfeld Roll Boxes Split at Corners
By John Phillips

Hi folks; here's a fairly trivial item to show that I'm still reading
MMD.

Recently I acquired a large Hupfeld 88n roll whose box top was split at
the four corners. I carefully mended the top and was peeved to
discover that it wouldn't fit on the bottom. That's why it split in
the first place! I've looked at my other large Hupfeld boxes and it
seems to me that a larger than average number of them have split box
tops too. This problem only seems to occur with the largest size
Hupfeld boxes. Has anybody else had trouble with them?

Fortunately for me the roll was loose inside the box bottom, so I just
made a slightly smaller bottom, but I did it grumpily.
