Money and Other Things Inside Pianos
By Rob Goodale

Actually this is a pretty common tale among piano technicians, and
is a popular subject for fill-in time at PTG chapter meetings. Though
relatively rare, thousands of dollars in cash, jewelry, rare coins,
bonds, and other goodies appear from time to time, and even the
occasional illegal contraband. Just one of those things that make
the profession more interesting.

About a year ago I helped move an old upright that was MUCH heavier
than I felt it should have been. Later I discovered dozens and dozens
of old church hymnals stuffed in the bottom. Recently I found an
unpaid parking ticket, dated 1975.
