Rollmonica
By Pat DeWitt

Dear MMDers

I have a Rollmonica and have found that not all the reeds work. I have
taken it apart by pulling out the little brass pins on the harmonica frame
and have found that there are little flaps over the reed holes that block
air flow when you are either sucking or blowing, depending on the set of
reeds involved. Some of these flaps are either stuck so the reeds do not
operate at all or they do not close, allowing the reed to operate all the
time. Does anyone know what the flap material is and where I can get some.
It appears rather stiff, unlike any of the typical materials used in a
player piano. I suppose it is the same as in any harmonica with more than
one set of reeds. The material has to be rather durable so that it can
survive exposure to moisture from a person blowing.

Thanks
