Bi-metallic Expansion Problems With Hoyt Metal
By Don Pole

I wondered when the expansion properties of bi-metallic Hoyt metal would
be mentioned. In a recent organ installation a set of old Hoyt metal
pipes needed the upper lips all straightened to get back onto proper
speech. Our voicer had seen this on other occasions, and assumed it
was a bi-metallic problem.
