An Old Adage
By John A. Tuttle

HI All, Just a quick observation about the late 20th Century.

I received a call from my older brother in California last night.
He was slightly concerned because he hadn't heard from me in about
two weeks. I assured him everything is fine and, having sent an email
earlier in the day, asked if he had checked his email. He said,
"No, not on my personal computer."

This afternoon, I got a reply to my letter, written from his business
computer. We exchanged a couple of quick e-mails in less than ten
minutes when it struck me that one old adage probably isn't true
anymore.

For in this time when an increasing number of people are basically
just a few clicks, beeps or keystrokes away, the phrase "No news is
good news", no longer seems to apply to personal relationships.

And yet it's truer than even with regards to the news media.

Back to work,

John A. Tuttle
