Wicks for Old Motors
By Joel Hoshaw

I'm responding to the postings about lubricating old motors. I don't
know the insides of coin and reproducing piano motors well enough to
know what kind of wicking they used, but if it's round, and 3/16" or
1/4" diameter, wool felt replacement of high quality is available
through one of my fellow members of the American Fan Collectors
Association (AFCA.) I use it in my antique electric fans and can
attest to its quality.

For anyone who is interested, you can either visit the
"Info -> Restoration Resources" section of the AFCA web site at

    http://www.fancollectors.org/

or email Scott MacClymonds at <blimycapn1@mindspring.com>, and
tell him I sent you. Hope this helps.
