Introduction & Seek Jazz Piano Rolls
By Jens Hultgren

Hello all, I live in Flen in Sweden, and have just been offered
a Steck Pianola, which would be my first exploration into mechanical
music. On the other hand, I have been a collector/restorer of
jukeboxes and amusement devices for many years.

I enjoy all genres of music, but especially jazz. This question
popped up: Did any of the jazz masters of the past ever make any
pianola recordings? Like, say, Earl Hines, Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans?
Duke Ellington maybe? It would really be tremendous to have Art Tatum
playing in my living room. Is there a chance?

And what about classical players, like Rubinstein or Glenn Gould?

I saw a listing of composers who wrote for pianola, and hope there
may be something similar for better known pianists. If you could
point me to where I could find this, I would be most grateful !

Cheers from Sweden,

Jens A. Hultgren
