Value of Sheet Music
By Alan Fox

In a recent MMD publication Devon Hollingsworth inquired about
determining the value of sheet music.

I recommend viewing the eBay on-line auction site <www.ebay.com> under
Collectibles: Sheet Music. Track the closing prices on the music for
a week and note the salient features such as titles, composers, cover
pictures and condition. Generally, in a free market, values are set by
demand, and what better market arena is there than a popular Internet
auction place like eBay?

[ Well, an auction often commands more than the same items at a flea
[ market. Since most folks who inquire about the "value of" something
[ are curious about the potential profit, I suggest that the seller
[ ask a few local antique stores what they will pay to purchase the
 [ item. -- Robbie
