Rebuilding Wurlitzer Valves
By Don Teach

In response to the recent discussions about Wurlitzer valves and their
pouches I have this to offer. I rebuilt a Wurlitzer and sealed the
pouches on the bottom. It works fine. I used Carter's Rubber Cement.
Why worry if the pouches are sealed on the bottom or the top, since
the vacuum will pull the sealer into the pouch. Original Wurlitzer
valves were often done with Zephyr skin. Also the valves were first
covered in pneumatic cloth with the leather facings applied on top
of the pneumatic cloth in an effort to make them airtight.
