Value of Old Vorsetzer Push-up Player
By James T. Barickman, forwarded

-- forwarded message, please reply to sender and MMD --

Dear MLA-L readers: A patron is trying to find out how much her
"Vorsetzer" is worth. From the name and her description of the
contraption, it sounds like something you attach to the front of
a piano. The parts ("fingers"?) that depress the piano keys are
activated by a piano roll. It dates from the early 1900's.

I've found web sites for mechanical musical instruments and will
probably refer my patron to a few organizations. However, if some of
you know something about this device just off the top of your heads,
please e-mail me directly.

Best regards,

James T. Barickman (aka Jake)
