Hardman 'Duo' Player Action
By John A. Tuttle

Hi All, I am writing this retraction after receiving some informa-
tion from Arthur Reblitz. Arthur reminded me that the Hardman 'Duo'
is a completely different animal than the 'modern' Aeolian Duo/Art.
(I should have remembered.)

I had written an article that was critical of the Hardman 'Duo',
citing the excessive valve clearance in the plastic unit block
valves that Aeolian used. The early Hardman didn't use the
plastic valve blocks.

The Hardman 'Duo', as Arthur pointed out, used a more standard
configuration, i.e., two tiers, standard type valves, etc. Also,
his opinion of their quality is higher. As I said to Arthur,
"... I still stick by my opinion concerning their quality. Average
at best."

Standing Corrected,

John A. Tuttle
