Interesting Conversation About a Player Piano
By John Page, UK

Re: Digest 99.06.07

The story from Larry Toto about a "garbage" player piano reminded me
of a story from one of our mechanical music museums here in the UK. The
instrument was a small church-style barrel organ. It had been discovered
in a derelict state in a shed, and when the museum's curator went to
collect it, he asked if there were any more barrels for it. The reply
was that there had been several, but only one was needed, so the others
were chopped up for fire-wood.
