Music Roll Repair Using Laundry Starch

For deformed edges of rolls, I have tried applying a solution of laundry
starch (not too strong), using an artist's brush to the edges of the
roll, and then ironing until dry.  This proves to strengthen the edges
of the rolls to a satisfactory standard.
