Music Rolls With the Seal Intact
By Karl Petersen

I obtained one of these sealed rolls at an AMICA auction in Southern
California in the late sixties, Kamennoi Ostrow. While I was quite
intrigued with the pristine quality of the roll and the seal, my naive
thoughts about a totally unplayed roll were dissolved by the savvy
advice of my peers: one can simply rotate and slip the seal band off
the end of the roll, having removed the left flange. The leader is not
dead-flat, and so it appears this roll had, indeed, been open before.

I do have another copy and keep this one on the shelf to be
"discovered" by anyone who browses long enough.
