Paul Eakins' Coinola - "Memory Lane Special"
By Brian Smith

Recently there was some discussion about the album "Nickel Music"
and the instruments on it. The text on the back of the album cover
explains some of the instruments, but it sounds like the information
was relayed to the person at Audio Fidelity who did the cover.

The "Red KT Special" was actually a regular Seeburg KT with xylophone.
The "Memory Lane Special" was a Coinola CO. The first tune on the album
is a great tune, "King Cotton", and it sounds good on the CO.

Where is the "Memory Lane Special" now? It might still have the reiter-
ating bells -- Paul used to swap the xylophone and bells in some of his
instruments.

Look for a picture on the MMD web site of "Memory Lane Special" as it
looked when it was exhibited at Paul and Laura Eakins' Gay 90's Melody
Museum in St. Louis, Missouri.
