Price Paid for Glass Harmonica
By Philip Jamison

Jody, You may recall the F. H. Smith Grand Harmonicon, a pedestal
type glass harmonica, which I posted on eBay. Well, it sold for $3200.

I was pleasantly surprised to receive a call from the buyer: Dennis
James, the popular theatre organist and glass harmonica virtuoso!
He said he already has two similar harmonicas; one is on display in
Wheaton Village, a museum of the glass industry in New Jersey. He says
he has plans to make a recording of glass harmonicas of various types
soon. The Smith model will be included. Further, he said I will
likely discover Smith's signature and date of manufacture hidden under
the removable stretcher.

[ Thanks, Phil, that's valuable data for the Archives. -- Robbie
