Preparing a Duo-Art Grand for Moving
By John A. Tuttle

Hi All, I'd recommend that you bring along two cinder blocks, like
those used to make the walls of a basement.

The stack of the Duo-Art action hangs down far enough that if you don't
raise the skid board off the ground by about six inches, the stack will
make contact with the ground before the side of the piano rests on the
board. Then the weight of the piano will be focused on the left-hand
bottom corner (leading edge) of the stack. In extreme cases, I've seem
the stack get broken away from its mounting, bent sticker rods, and
broken flange-fingers.

In the little diagram below, the XXXX is the cinder block,
the ____ is the skid board.
