Edison Business Machine Conversion

I inherited some of these Edison business machines from an uncle,
and they are sitting out in a storage shed.  I never knew what to do
with them -- still don't.  If they could actually be modified to play
cylinder records that would be nice.  They have electric motors in them
and don't have to be wound up with a crank like the ones I'm familiar
with.
