89-Key Gavioli Organ From the Heller Hoard
By Jeff Alterman

The Gavioli organ that was in the Heller hoard was on PTC #15 in its
early years. I believe it was removed from that carousel circa 1923,
when Heller had acquired the organ.

The organ has been restored to playing condition and is in the hands
of a collector in Europe. This Gavioli organ is an 89-key model and
I believe it is the G4 scale. This organ is probably similar to the
G4 scale 89-key Gavioli organ owned by Bill Edgerton.

By the way, I had a chance to listen to Bill Edgerton's 89-key Gavioli
a few weeks ago, and it is a magnificent sounding organ. It was
restored from a derelict condition. It is still playing the original
style 89-key Gavioli book music. The organ has approximately 370
pipes.
