MBSI Mid-America Band Organ Rally 19-22 July 2001
By Tim Trager

2001 MBSI Mid-America Chapter Band Organ Rally
               July 19-22, 2001 Wabash, Indiana
For over 25 years America's first & largest band organ rally

For years it has been said that Mid-Am has more fun! One of the
main reasons for this has been the annual band organ rally, America's
premier band organ event.

This is where people come to get educated about the wonder world
of band organs. Come and listen to the "Happiest Music on Earth"!
The rally is _the_ special social time for enthusiasts from all across
America.

Just one conversation at a rally can keep you from making a band organ
purchase mistake or save you hours in building or rebuilding a band
organ. Just haul your band organ down and let the experts go over it
and discuss it with you.

This year's rally in Wabash, Indiana, organized by Frank and Hope
Rider, will be spectacular! Many people have already registered for
this fun event. It will be a heavily attended event. Many, many band
organs are expected, from an 81-key Wilhelm Bruder to a North Tonawanda
mounted on an antique truck. Those who attend the Wabash rally will
also participate in the famous Circus Days in nearby Peru, Indiana.

No, you don't have to be a MBSI member to see the organs displayed
in Wabash on Friday and Saturday. There are plenty of hotel rooms
in nearby Huntington, Indiana, for non-registrants.

All are welcome but there are fantastic benefits for MBSI members
and others who have registered for the event. Just a few of the
many registrant benefits:

1. You will be able to tour the wonderful Rider collection during
a special open house.

2. You will be able to attend a performance, at a special
discount price, of the circus at the Circus Hall of Fame in Peru
(http://www.circushalloffame.com/).

3. You will be treated to a "Hoosier Buffet" in the beautiful
Honeywell Ford Theater Lobby.

4. You will be taken to the see the Great Peru Circus, complete
with a 65-piece circus band (http://www.perucircus.com/).

5. You can participate in the Peru Circus Parade.

6. You can attend the Mart. The marts are the best keep secret
of the rallies!

Band organ rally marts are great. This years will be huge and will be
held in the 5000 sq. ft. Honeywell Center Rink. The organ rally marts
are great because most attendees drive to the rally and thus pack along
a lot of goodies for the Mart. In fact, some come to the rally just
for the Mart. Remember you are in the heart of Band Organ country and
the stuff is here. And -- the price of a mart table is cheap: only
$6.00 bucks each.

At past Marts there has been everything from original catalogs, band
organ and nickelodeon rolls, piano rolls, roll frames, organ figures,
drum mechanisms, tracker bars, books, recordings, music boxes, music
box discs, band organs for sale, orchestrion motors and wall boxes,
back issues of various old catalogs and society journals, book music,
book cutting machines, and much much more.

Don't complain if you can't find the stuff you need and have to build
it when you fail to attend the rally Mart. Just think of the valuable
contacts you will make. If you wait for such items to appear on eBay,
first you will overpay and second I'll snatch it first before it ever
gets to eBay!

7. The grand finale rally banquet with musical entertainment followed
by a presentation on the world famous Great Dorset Steam Fair by Tim
Trager.

8. Open houses at area collections and a special open house at the
nearby restored large Dentzel carousel.

Don't feel left out with your band organ gathering dust in the garage.
Bring it to Wabash where it will be appreciated. In fact, those who
register and bring a band organ will get a special bonus. Pump up the
trailer tires, tune the trumpets, and _come!_ If you can't tune the
trumpets, we'll help you.

I don't want to hear any excuses for not coming. Don't let the parade
pass you by again this year, don't sit back and say, "I shoulda gone."
You know you want to come -- so make plans _now._ We'll see you in
Wabash, Indiana!

Come and discover for yourself why Mid-Am has more fun!
