Seek In-Line Electric Valves for Player Piano
By Galen Bird

We are looking for a source for a 12-volt DC MIDI-controlled valve
that will fit into player piano tubing. I know that Ragtime West has
one, but it is almost $15 per note. Does anyone have a source for
these valves?

Galen Bird

[ Mike Ames described a very similar valve, but for a pressure system,
[ in "Journal of Mechanical Music", Vol. 47, No. 1, Spring 2001. A
[ significant aspect of this design is that the in-line valve includes
[ a chamber connected to the system air supply (pressure or suction)
[ which make the pneumatic operation much faster in spite of the added
 [ hoses. -- Robbie
