"De Arabier" ("The Arab") Dutch Street Organ
By Hans van Oost

I am sorry to announce that no CDs are available of the fine street
organ, "de Arabier". Several hundred song titles have been recorded,
but all of them were issued on vinyl singles, EP's and LP's. Even
shellac 78 RPM records exist!

The main reason is that the organ has returned to the owners, the
Perlee firm in Amsterdam, and it is now protected by Dutch law as a
monument. It is played only on certain occasions, still much loved
by enthusiasts.

Thanks to Robbie for forwarding our Internet address -- there is
much to see there.
