Value of Old Square Grand Piano
By Jim Hendershot

First of all, let me send along all my best wishes for the Christmas
season to all of you MMD'ers out there. We finally got a dusting of
snow on Monday, so it's beginning to look a little like Christmas...

I have recently acquired a square grand piano, made by Ditson of
Boston. I didn't pay very much for it, and it's a restoration work for
sure. I am told it dates to the mid 1800's, and was probably shipped
to California in the gold rush days or some such bull like that. What
I would like to know is: How much is something like this worth?

Before I spend hours and dollars on this thing, I would like to know
if it's worth it. What say you all?

Best Regards,
Jim Hendershot
