Modifying Windows File Type Associations

No, you don't have to go into the system registry -- this method simply
works by luck !

* in Windows Explorer:
* Select the file (one mouse click on the icon).
* Then, while holding down the Shift key  (that is the trick!),
    click with the right Mouse button on the selected file icon.
* The pop-up context menu appears, with the choice "Open with..."
* Choose the desired application program, and then check the
    little box "Always use this program to open this type of file."

That's it -- this should work in all Windows versions (Win9x, NT,
2000, XP).
