J. & C. Fischer Piano Company
By Juergen Hocker

Hi to all mechanical music fans! For several years I have had a lot
of fun with an Ampico Fischer grand piano. Can anyone give me some
information concerning the Fischer Company? Is this firm still
existing? On the frame is written J. & C. Fischer, Est. 1840 New York.
Who can help? Thanks in advance

Juergen Hocker

[ Dr. Hocker's two Ampico grand pianos, a Boesendorfer and a Fischer,
[ were fitted for MIDI control by MMDers Horst Mohr and Walter Tenten.
[ The pianos perform pieces composed for piano plus orchestra or for
[ two pianos, including compositions like "Study for two Player Pianos
[ No. 40b" by Conlon Nancarrow. See the review by Mark Lutton in MMD
 [ 991127, and Juergen's article in MMD 000426. -- Robbie
