By Tim Trager

[ Hal Davis recalls that the Chicago firm which made the ormolu
[ facade for Wurlitzer was still in business 30 years ago. That
[ enticing clue set off a search, and Tim found the answer:

Here it is -- The Ormolu Company!

  Decorator's Supply Corp.
  3610-12 S. Morgan St., Chicago, IL 60609

[ My 7 kg Merriam's dictionary of 1927 gives this definition:
 [
[ ormolu (French "or moulu" = ground or milled gold) 1. Originally
[ a preparation of ground gold for gilding. 2. A variety of brass
[ made to imitate gold in appearance, used in mounts for furniture,
[ etc. Called also mosaic gold.
