Calliope Blower Designed by Mike Kitner
By Bob Moore

Tom Grace inquired about a small blower for an organ. Dr. Bill Black
is currently restoring a Tangley calliope and has built a blower that
seems to be what is needed. Go to http://www.carousels.com/ and view
his article and photos. While he does not give specifics as to what
he is using, he may respond to an E-mail if asked. I would assume if
it is capable of powering a calliope, it would be suitable for a small
organ.

[ Bill is restoring a Tangley CA-43 player calliope and he describes
[ turbine blower pumps for pressure and suction designed by Mike
[ Kitner. The photos don't show any special provision to muffle the
[ sound of the turbines, so Kitner's design might be too noisy for a
[ small pipe organ. See http://www.carousels.com/calpt23.htm
