Solenoid Pianos Can Duplicate a Human Performance
By Jim Moore

I wonder if anyone has tried to place a reproducing piano, a good
quality solenoid piano and a live artist with piano behind a curtain
and see which an audience thought was best. It would be even better
if the audience consisted of a group of professionals, i.e., pianists,
technicians and a knowledgeable group of enthusiasts.

I have owned several reproducers, Ampico and Duo-Arts. I now own two
solenoid pianos, a 7' & 9', which I think sound very good. I will
admit to a slight preference to the Ampico B but with all that roll
changing it just wasn't worth the hassle. I did have the PowerRoll
set up but it still was a hassle.
