Andersson 18-Note Piano-Harpa Scale
By Nicholas Simons

The scale is as follows:

  g a b c d e f g a b c d e f g a b c.

This is a simple diatonic scale based on C, the forth note up.
I tune mine a bit flat so as not to overstrain the wooden frame.
The two strings for each note should be tuned in unison.

The hammer wires should be bent so that the small felt tipped
hammers just miss the strings at rest, therefore allowing the
string to vibrate freely after being hit.

This is a nice 'novelty' instrument with good rigid notation barrel
pinning of dance tunes. There were only ever ten different barrels
pinned and these are given, along with a good description of the
instrument, in Bill Lindwall's article in 'The Music Box', Volume 8,
Number 8, Christmas 1978.

Nicholas Simons, Great Britain.
