Sousa Marches at Columbian Exposition 1893-94
By Jonathan Elkus

-- non-subscriber, please reply to sender and MMD --

Greetings! In preparing a presentation for the Society for American
Music's forthcoming session on the John Philip Sousa sesquicentennial,
I'm very much in need of knowing whether in 1893-94 there were rolls
available for any mechanical instrument of four of his marches: "Liberty
Bell", "High School Cadets", "Belle of Chicago", and "Manhattan Beach".

Also, I'd like to know whether machines playing these rolls would have
been audible on the Midway during Chicago's Columbian Exposition of
1893-94.

Looking forward very much to your kind response, Jon E.
