Klaes O. Friberg & Mekanisk Musik Museum
By Michael Woolf

In 1976 I made a brief visit to Denmark to visit the Mekanisk Musik
Museum. It was located at Vesterbrogade 150 in central Copenhagen.
Proprietor Klaes O. Friberg was at his home and kindly drove to the
Museum to spend a little time with me. I treasure the memory. Today
sadly Klaes is no more and neither is the Museum.

He had been in business with Dave Bowers and Terry Hathaway and many
fine instruments crossed the Atlantic -- some several times -- during
the heyday of mechanical music collecting.

My brief visit to Copenhagen (about twenty hours) continued with
a magic evening at the Tivoli Gardens and then a stroll on the harbour
area the next morning before leaving Denmark.
