Roll of Lothar Perl Tunes at AMICA Convention
By Charles Davis

Thanks to Joyce Brite for the notice about Frank Himpsl and his piano
roll tribute to Lothar Perl. For those interested in learning the
music of Lothar Perl: Syncopate Impressions is published by Schott
in Germany.

I have heard Alex personally play the Perl pieces and Robin Frost
pieces over the years. A compact disc of the Lothar Perl pieces may
be heard on Billy Mayerl Rediscoveris on Shellwood SWCD 1 (Shellwood
Productions, St. Leonards Road, Thames Ditton, Surrey KT7 0RN,
England).

There is a QRS medley roll of movie music from Our Gang comedies
recorded by Alex. Recently Richard A. Clark of England transcribed
one of Alex's medleys to a roll with Ampico coding. And I would like
to know how to contact this gentleman to get myself a copy of this
roll. I believe it to be the Palmy Days medley from a 1931 Eddie
Cantor film.
