Godfrey Melodic Player in UK
By Roger Waring

I have recently restored and sold a Godfrey Melodic player, the history
of which I know nothing. The name does not appear in various internet
listings of makers, and I would very much like to be able to give my
client some background information. Does anyone have any detail on
this make?

This particular player is fairly modest, with what I think is an APPA
style action. All 85 notes of the piano are connected. There are the
usual basic lever controls. The casework is slightly more attractive
than usual, with an oval recess for the spoolbox door. I would guess
at around 1923 in terms of date.

All contributions acknowledged. Many thanks.
