How To Move a Piano
By Mark Kinsler

Okay, I know that everyone's answer is to have a professional do it.
But presumably professionals learn their stuff somewhere; possibly from
this news list.

Thus: We would like to move a small spinet piano to the second floor of
our fine arts building. The building has perhaps the smallest elevator
I have ever seen. The instrument should fit in the elevator if it was
placed on its side.

Excepting piano-dropping disasters, would the instrument be harmed if
it was turned gently on its side? Neither Mr. Reblitz' text nor any
other sources seem to give any clue. Thanks.
