Artempo "Hand Played" Piano Rolls
By Terry Smythe

I recently acquired a bunch of rolls off eBay, all in terrible
condition, but still possible to pass them all through my roll scanner.
Actually, these rolls in poor condition often yield delightful music.
In their day, they were played to death.

One of them had a partial box, and to my surprise, found the attached
Artempo label affixed to the top. I've never seen this one before.
The illustration suggests hand playing direct to perforated roll.
Can anyone shed any light on this company and this perforator?

Hmmm... One wonders what's in the bottle sitting on the perforator!

Regards,
